In one of the last remaining unexplored areas of the world, inaccessible not only due to the surrounding vast and dense jungle but also cultural barriers, lives the people of the Jaguar, the Nukini.

This first ever known recording of the Nukini's chants aims to preserve the traditions and knowledge of a people in threat of extinction, while offering the listener a chance to experience the mystical atmosphere of an indigenous South American tribe still living in the Amazon.

Producer Jonas Rocha, aka Yskurua, has once more dug deep into the original and fascinating musical culture of the native Brazilians, this time together with Xîtî Nukini, a leader of the Nukini people. Adding elements of regional urban music with the intention of communicating with the inhabitants of our modern cities, the album was recorded in Rio de Janeiro with participation of musicians Nena Natal (guitar), Gabriel Carneiro (percussion), Leonardo Floresta (bass and flute), and Rodrigo Shá (flute).

Released under the label Zoorecords, the album INÚ - Canto do Filho da Onça - is available on digital and limited edition CD.
